Bangladesh Maritime University

The Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Maritime University Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, NUP, ndc, psc, PhD paid an official visit to the Bangladesh Marine Academy, Barishal on 11 to 13 October 2025. The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by the Dean, FSA Commodore Md. Atiqur Rahman, (G), NUP, NPP, afwc, psc, PhD, faculty members and Inspector of academies/institutes Captain Md Zahedul Islam, (L), psc BN. On arrival of the Vice Chancellor was given a guard of honor. During interactions with teachers and officers a brief presentation on the academy and its activities was displayed. Besides academic education he encouraged the instructors to include ethics, values and norms in their lessons for the cadets. VC visited the classroom, laboratories, library and various educational facilities. He also addressed the cadets of the academy in the auditorium and emphasized on the continuous upgradation of the academic curriculum in view of the ever changing scenario of maritime industry. Later a tree plantation and photo session took place. VC expressed his satisfaction regarding the academic facilities available to the cadets and the quality of instructors and instruction materials. Bangladesh Marine Academy, Barishal is affiliated under Bangladesh Maritime University for 4 Years Bachelor of Maritime Science (Nautical) and BSc in Marine Engineering program.
