Joint Research Project Signed among BMU,University of Hawaiiand Connected PlanetDhaka, 20 May 2019With a view to develop the maritime tourism status of Bangladesh a Joint Research Project entitled, “A Preliminary Study to Develop a Phased Approach for Maritime Tourism Development in Bangladesh” was signed among Bangladesh Maritime University, Bangladesh, University of Hawaii, USAand America's renowned tourism operator Connected Planetat the Campus of BMU located in pallabi, Dhaka. In the presence of BMU Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal, Dean of FMBSCommodore M Ziauddin Alamgiron behalf of BMU and M. Jan Rumion behalf of University of Hawaiiand Connected Planet signed the agreement. BMU Treasurer, Registrar, Dean ofFEOS and FGS, Academic Advisor,Controllerof Exam, Teachers and Officers attended the ceremony as well.This Research will provide recommendations to government and non-government stakeholders in order to implement aworld-class services in potential maritime tourist locations.The researchers expressed their hope that the study will play an important role in achieving Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’sVision-2041 by implementinguseful Maritime Tourism Plans forthe country.
