The 10^th Annual Senate Meeting of Bangladesh Maritime University held at the temporary campus in Dhaka on Wednesday, 10 December 2025. The Vice-Chancellor of the university and Senate Chairman Rear Admiral Dr. Khandakar Akhter Hossain, NBP, NUP, ndc, psc, PhD, presided over the meeting. Mr. Asad Alam Siam, the Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Hoque, OSP, ndc, afwc, psc, The Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (M) Rear Admiral Md. Niyamat Elahee, NPP, ndc, psc, the Member of UGC Prof. Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen and other members of the Senate were present at the meeting. At the outset the Chairman notified briefly about the activities of the university had been held so far in the last year in his Speech. The revised budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 and the main budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026 of the university were approved by the Senate. The 10^th Annual Report (July 2024-June 2025) of BMU was unanimously approved in the meeting as well. The senate members expressed that the construction works of the permanent campus will complete soon and shifted as early as possible to open all the faculties and departments. They hope that, the university will be the center of maritime excellence in maritime higher education in the country and also in the sub-continent by producing world class manpower, new knowledge and modern technologies in maritime sector. They also expressed their satisfaction for the overall development of the university and assured to remain their wholehearted support for the betterment of the university as well.
